Meet Mrs Feasts
Were you to ask me if, after 17 or so years in the public sector drafting policies on this and that whilst travelling to far-flung places around the globe, I would set up my own small kitchen table business baking and selling cakes, I might have raised an eyebrow?
Mind you, if I told you about driving a submarine, taking the controls of an RAF fast jet or a whistle-stop trip to Afghanistan on the night I was due to be married, you might raise an eyebrow too. Irish girl, married to a Scot, moved to Wales (of course) and opened a delicatessen on a high street; yeah right, you might have said. Would I have believed you? Anyway, this all happened.
Hi, I’m JoJo, by the way, one half of Feasts + Fables and this is my new story.

Meet Mr Fables
If you’d asked me if I’d been a Dad just after my 20th birthday; if I’d have spent over 30 years in uniform. What about if I thought I would get to be a ‘grown up’, running bits of the organisation I made my career in? Who’d have imagined I’d spend over 12 months in Afghanistan over the course of two ‘work trips’? There’s running a marathon on the eve of my 50th birthday … creating and running a high street business for nearly 5 years. What if you’d have asked me if I would have sold our dream home to set sail in a camper van for a life of curiosity and new adventures? But all this happened.
I’m Barrie, the other half of Feasts + Fables, and this is our actual life.
